Considering Homeschool?

Making the decision to take control of your childrens education can seem overwhelming. It is not just about taking control of your children’s educational goals, but more importantly about discipleship and Christian character, training them to have a Christ-centered worldview. If this is an area that you feel God may be leading you, be encouraged that there are many resources available to help you in your educational endeavor.

Recommendations to help you make an informed decision

~Pray, pray, pray…. Homeschool is a God given calling. It is not a decision to be entered into lightly. Wait on the Lord to reveal His perfect will for your family.

~Do your research! There are many different types of homeschool group support, curriculum, co-op classes, and other opportunities that require your full attention and it is worth the time and effort spent in investigating them.

~Talk to other homeschooling families who are willing to share their advice and experiences. Each child has a special learning style and it will help you to get acquainted with some other home educators that have wisdom in this area.

~Visit the websites for HSLDA (Home School Legal Defense Assoc.) and CHEA (Christian Home Educators Assoc.) to learn about the legal rights and regulations for homeschooling in your area.

~Most importantly, trust in the Lord.

“All your children shall be taught by the LORD,  and great shall be the peace of your children.”   Isaiah 54:13

“….he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.”  Phil 1:6

“The one who calls you is faithful and he will do it”  1 Thess 5:24

“Since my youth, O God, you have taught me, and to this day I declare your marvelous deeds.”  Psalm 71:17

“Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.”   Eph 6:4
